Hapeville, Ga. –Academy Theatre proudly presents Tapas II: Steady As She Goes. This is a play festival comprised of a collection of ten minute short plays based on the prompt of ‘Steady As She Goes’, and nearly all are premieres! We’re featuring some of Georgia’s great creative talents for the festival include Fracena Byrd, Chris Jones, Rob Raissle, and Lynna Schmidt.
“I am beyond thrilled that the Academy is bringing back Tapas,” says Fracena Byrd, “…premiering new works, creating new collaborative teams…this is what the Academy is about.”
“Tapas was such a success in Stockbridge that we wanted to perform another show of short plays in Hapeville as well! Steady as She Goes lets playwrights address where we are today, both in terms of wanting stability and safety and examining the degree to which providing that stability so often comes from women. I am so eager for people to see this show and revel in the great work that’s being done!’
We’re also giving up and coming talent a chance to shine! Academy Interns are being paired with more experienced mentors to make the show come alive!
These shows contain adult themes and language.
