WORKING TITLE PLAYWRIGHTS
Working Title Playwrights (WTP) is a professional theatre organization dedicated to:
- developing and promoting new plays and playwrights
- advancing an understanding of script development
- increasing appreciation for the value of original theatrical work among diverse audiences and the theatre community.
Founded in 2000 by former members of the playwriting group Blue Machine, WTP was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2003. During our first years of operation, WTP created opportunities for writers to showcase their material by producing and presenting public readings of short pieces at Dad's Garage and two full productions at Neighborhood Playhouse's Black Box.
Our goal is to prepare great plays for production. Since early 2002, works developed by WTP have been produced in the Atlanta area by PushPush Theater, Process Theatre Company, Chattahoochee Theatre Company, Onstage Atlanta, Village Writers Guild, Atlanta Classical Theatre, DramaTech, the Holly Theatre, and numerous theatres across the US.
