SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS
What distinguishes the School of Performing Arts from other theatre training programs in the Southeast is the interdependence between our Resident Actors and the School. Actor-teachers are the founding premise of the Academy's artistic philosophy, and the resident faculty members are themselves artists continuing to hone their craft. Our classes are taught by professional actors, directors, and writers in order to provide the intense experiences our students need to enhance their abilities. Within this environment, a thorough program of serious and fun theatre training provides students with the background to pursue drama as a hobby or as a career.
Our 8-week sessions and summer drama camps provide the full range of creative opportunities for children and adults. Each class is designed to inspire and encourage, as well as teach and guide. All of our classes are taught by Atlanta's top professionals, and result in workshop performances or readings.
The Academy Theatre has temporarily suspended School of Performing Arts classes due to renovations at the Theatre's space in Avondale Estates. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
